The Australian House - Homes of the Tropical North

Author(s): Balwant Singh Saini; Ray Joyce

SECONDHAND BOOKS | HOME DESIGN

The traditional timber house of tropical northern Australia, a form of vernacular domestic architecture, was at its peak during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sadly, many of the house of this period have disappeared and this title records the most noteworthy examples that still remain, ranging from large residences in Brisbane and prosperous provincial cities to the more humble workers cottages of the late 19th century.

1988. Reprint. A near fine copy only marked by light rubbing to the base of the boards. The d/w is good with some edge wear and sunfading to the spine.
