1890. First UK edition. A superb fine copy bound in red full leather boards which have gilt framed borders. The front board has a gilt emblem which I suspect is that of the Royal Military College as the front pastedown has a presentation plate from the College dated 1907. The spine has five raised bands and ornate gilt decoration. The title panel is in contrasting green leather. All the gilt, including the full gilt edges of the text block, is bright. The boards have negligible rubbing only. The endpapers are marbled. All the contents are very fine and undamaged and the binding is superb. This copy is clearly one that has received a prestige binding for such a prestigious institution and has remained in superb condition. Very collectible with all these characteristics. Scans available if required.
