Bradbury and Evans, 1857. First edition. This copy is a near fine, first state edition with all first state points - three line errata on page xiv, "William"for "Frederick" on page 317, B2 instead of Bb2 on page 371, no errata on page 467 and "Rigaud"for "Blandois" on the pages 469 - 473. This copy is superbly bound in green cloth boards with tan 1/2 leather. The spine has 5 raised bands, red leather title panel and highly tooled gilt decoration. Marbled edges and endpapers. Apart from the usual tanning to the edges of the illustrations and a very few foxing spots to the endpapers the contents are fine and unmarked and the binding is excellent. A really beautiful copy. Scans available if required.
